City, port OK $33M pact to regain control of convention center expansion site

City and port leaders agreed Tuesday to buy out a hotel developer for more than $33 million to regain control of a waterfront parcel crucial to expanding the San Diego Convention Center.

Transit Problems Around the Airport Aren't Going to Solve Themselves

When I moved to San Diego from Los Angeles almost 15 years ago, I did so looking for a better quality of life. I was fed up with L.A.’s traffic, congestion, air quality and other negatives. Getting in and out of LAX was a particular hassle that increased my anxiety at the very thought of flying.

Chula Vista, Port approve financing for billion-dollar hotel and convention center

After decades of false starts and unfulfilled proposals, Chula Vista’s bayfront redevelopment finally has the financial backing it needs to build its flagship project.

Chula Vista and the Port of San Diego approved a development agreement, revenue-sharing plan and public subsidy for the $1.1 billion hotel and convention center Tuesday.
